The 2nd Conference calls for postgraduate students (Master and PhD), teachers, professors and professionals in the arts, in education and in social and human sciences to present their research and projects.


THEMES
The themes and research focus areas are open to any proposals inside this field. For example, the following ten topics are suggested:

  1. Methodological Intersections: Quantitative, Qualitative and Arts-Based and Artistic Research.
  2. Objectivity and Subjectivity: The social construction of the artist’s and researcher’s identities.
  3. The Context of Research: Bridging the gap between educational, academic and artistic institutions.
  4. A/r/tography and other methodological approaches.
  5. Arts-Based Research & Artistic Research based on Arts education and teacher's training.
  6. Challenges in Information Technology, communication and social networks in academic research and Arts-Based Research & Artistic Research.
  7. Empirical Data and Fiction: demonstration and interpretation in Artistic & Art-Based Research.
  8. Development of tools and techniques in Arts-Based Research.
  9. Quality criteria in Arts-Based Research and Artistic Research in academic and professional contexts.
  10. Arts-Based Research & Artistic Research in different professional fields: anthropology, art-therapy, education, psychology, sociology, etc.



LANGUAGES
The sessions will be conducted in both Spanish and English, allowing for fluent communication in both languages.


PAPERS AND PROJECTS
The full papers and projects will be submitted in one of the two languages, Spanish or English, and must include a broad summary (around 1000 words approximately) in the other language. The papers or projects can include, or be made of: visual images, videos, performances, literary texts, music, sound files, and any other artistic forms.

FEES
There are no registration fees.

The participation in the 2nd Conference on Arts-Based Research and Artistic Research is dependent on acceptance of a submitted abstract. All participants are responsible for handing in a full paper or project before January 15th, 2014.


PUBLICATION
The final documents of the Conference will be published by the University of Granada in an electronic book.
